Welcome to like 2001 when the Tilt Boys first did this.

Also, who cares? I dont get why women want their own event, and that women quoted who wouldnt have entered if she knew a man had entered should go back to the kitchen or something if she doesnt want to compete with men.

I mean jeez, this is the 21st century and equality works in both directions.

I think you are missing the point. Yes, men can legally enter a womens competition. But, just consider this. For years men have played poker while women watched from the side lines. Very few had confidence enough to enter this world of back rooms and cigarettes. Sherry (the tournament director at the commerce casino) has worked hard to build this tournament. You can tell how difficult it has been since all we had were 8 tables. For many of the women this was their first time in a tournament. And now they, because of a few people that, I might add, had many tournaments they can, and have entered; will not be back. Not because of Jose as much as other quite rude men calling them "Pigs" and "low class" when they did not welcome them with open arms.

Jose cast an intimidating figure. Not Poker wise but just his size alone. Some women are intimidated and it was hard enough to get them to play. Now they won't be back. I for one am not intimidated but I won't return to a women's tournament because of the rudeness of the men. One had the nerve to tell me that if the women can play in "our tournaments" we can play in theirs. It is not your tournaments it is an open tournament. However, this is how many men perceive the open tournaments and treat us as intruders there. If you had a men only tournament I for one would respect that, and not enter.

Granny,

Poker (esp. live tourney poker at Commerce) is filled with miserable, delusional, egotistical, despicable, rude, disgusting people. In other words, don't expect much in the way of hospitality and manners when you walk into a poker room.

Players in live tournaments are like whiny children.

Don't expect much or you will be disspointed.

Maybe poker isn't for you.

this isn't exactly true since it's a case of the silent majority and the loud, obnoxious, drunken minority

and since NVG is an internet forum mostly, if not entirely, composed of these quiet internet players, most of whom are genuinely nice guys, i don't really get the point of that long ass ramble

Meh .. if you or any other man manages to get into the WSOP Ladies event in 2008

[/ QUOTE ]

three men played it in '07 FYI

[/ QUOTE ]

who and how?

[/ QUOTE ]

don't know who, but that was the word going around.

"it was legal for them to play and they didn't care about being made fun of, so they did" would be my best guess

[/ QUOTE ]wow, sup +EV. Girls are bad at poker so it's easy money. Plus fields are smaller. I'm surprised Helmuth doesn't play in it.

Meh .. if you or any other man manages to get into the WSOP Ladies event in 2008, I for one will be banging on the door demanding to be allowed to play in the Seniors event (not much of a stretch anyway for me, as I will only be a few months off from the deadline anyhow).

If Harrahs lets guys in for the 2008 Ladies WSOP, then that could be the end for ALL special events is what I'm getting at.

You say it like it would be a bad thing.
