Reds picked to finish last in the NL Central? 27th overall?

That's laughable.

Meh. They're ranked 6th in the NL, which is about right considering their recent history.

I'm hoping it will change for the better, but I won't be surprised if we finish two or three games out. Again.

These rankings are total bogus. No respect given to Toronto, Minnesota, Philadelphia, or Florida. Dodgers at 4? Every year the tires turn, and they don't go anywhere.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think it's so much a disrespect to the Twinkies as much as it is a respect to the AL Central. Considering they lost 2 of their top pitchers from last year (Radke and Liriano) plus the fact that there are 4 strong teams in the division means someone's gonna get left out. Any of the non-KC teams could finish at the top.

Seriously.

Every year I predict something like 84-78, 2-3 games out of the playoffs. This year I say 92-70. Playoffs, baby, playoffs!

Unless the cards make a deal, I don't see them winning more games than Chicago.

these predictions seem about halfway between public opinion and the "correct" rankings, which is far better than i expected out of SI.

Mets, only 5th?

If Pedro was playing all of this season, the Mets should be a shoe-in for the WS. Now, it's not as certain.

I agree. I thought they seemed pretty reasonable, which means that just like always with these things, they will just be mostly wrong instead of the absolute opposite of the correct final order.
