Need advice in picking a software
I wanted to know if it was a good idea or even necassary to purchase any accounting software like Quicken or Microsoft Money to assist me manage my money and finances in my poker playing ventures. Can anyone tell me if these programs are any good or if there are any other good programs to help keep track of all the expenditures and finances I need for my poker playing career. The only software I really have is Poker Tracker - which isn't a budgeting or financial tracking software. I am interested in investing my money once I have a comfortable amount to do so. So I am trying to think long term.

WHy don't you describe what you want to do with the app. Quite frankly, it sounds like Excel (or OpenOffice or GoogleDocuments) would be fine.

I haven't used it, but Intuit has a free Quickbooks package that seems pretty damned full featured. Doesn't hurt to try it out. You can get it for free here:
