hehe I would comment but I am always going busto because I always buy into the biggest game that my br can support.

for example if i have $500 I play 15-30LHE or 2-5 NLH

If i have $1000 I play 30-60 LHE or 5-10 NLH

If you run good, you are ballin

You don't have a bankroll, and your underage (sorry but 18 is still underage in my eyes).

[/ QUOTE ]

How is he underage if he's playing at an 18+ casino?

He is underage if he cannot fathom that the risk is too great to play without a bankroll. Its immaturity expressing itself, he is mentally underage.

What risk? He has a job and I assume still lives at home so he has very little monthly expenses. This is the smallest game spread there it sounds like, and he has got to start somewhere. Sure he will probably go broke a few times without a solid bankroll but it beats working a part time job for 9 months before he can even give it a shot.

The first live tournament I played was a $20 rebuy. Before going to the casino I was ready for some solid play and a new experience. Imagine my surprise when everyone sits down with 10bb and starts pushing with anything. It was such a donkfest, I was immensely disappointed. In every one of the first 10+ hands at least 4 people were all in preflop, it was ultra bingo.

You live and learn.

yeah. Outside vegas low buyin tourneys (under 200 bucks) are pushfests. Low buyin live tourneys, even when shovefests, are a good learning experience.

I suggest on reading the 1/2 nl 100 max threads. You may decide to shortstack so you can take 4 shots.

[/ QUOTE ]

Its still quite likely that he's going to go broke (regardless of skill level).

OP, you have to be willing to accept this fact. If you can't then you shouldn't be playing.

Wow, I think that describes 3/4 of the poker-playing population. Besides that, he's playing with what he can afford to lose, I think he mentioned that. I'm pretty sure he wants to do well and he's trying to assess his chances.

OP: make four short buys instead of two full buys. Shove monsters. GL.

What risk? The risk that he won't be able to go to the movies with his friends next weekend? The risk that he won't have the funds to pay his older brother to buy beer for him?

OP is a high school student, lol. He lives at home, he's not a professional trying to make a living off of poker. If he wants to take a shot, he should take a shot, as long as his expectations are realistic and he understands that it's very likely he'll go broke. And, by the way - if misunderstanding and/or ignoring bankroll considerations makes you "mentally underage," I'd say the average age of 2+2 posters is about 14.

You can't beat blackjack unless you count, track, holecard or sequential ace locate, among other techniques. If you count, track, holecard or sequential ace locate, among other techniques, then you need the correct conditions to implement your strategies such as penetration, rules, sloppy procedure, house shuffle, etc. Just because it's a blackjack game doesn't mean it can be beaten. Just because a blackjack game can be beaten doesn't mean you can beat it.
