EPT Monte Carlo Hand 1

Blinds 50/100. I probably have like 40 hands on the villains, so my reads aren't definite yet.

HJ seems tight. He's probably opened only 3 or 4 pots since we started, and I don't remember anything interesting postflop--always c-bet, never saw a showdown.

BB is loose/passive. He limped maybe 50% of the time that it was unraised, and probably called raises 1/3 of the time or so. He played similarly postflop, but seemed to give up before the river, so I'm pretty sure he hasn't shown down anything yet. The one time I remember him raising pre, he c-bet and won. Also, he's finnish.

Preflop:
HJ (15kish) opens to 300, hero (30k) calls in the CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], BB (15kish) makes it 1200, HJ calls, and hero calls.

Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (or some three rags, all diamonds)
Pot: t3700

BB checks?, HJ checks, Hero???????

Agreed - as much as I want to bet here, checking is definately the right thing.

I consider myself to be a fairly to quite creative player, but I pretty much always check here, especially this deep.

You have nothing here. What is wrong with taking a stab at the pot against a tight player and a loose/passive fish?

he said something about the loose/passive fish that he calls and gives up to the river, so i'll go with check 100%. you have king high, no diamond and pretty much you can be called by any diamond even raised. and if you get raised what do you do? you call, maybe you are already beaten... this is a clear check, take the free card see what else is happening.
also, if someone calls, and you hit a king, you have no idea where you stand in the hand, especially if the tight player calls. what if a fourth diamond hits the board?
taking a stab at this small pot compared to hero's not bad stack size is useless imo
