Default new system windows xp or vista/ opinions needed

looking for a new computer is vista or windows xp the way to go, thanks

If you are using PC strictly for poker, you can stick with XP since there's not much of a difference in that aspect.

If you are making more of a gaming rig with directx 10 graphics(geforce 8xxx series), then Vista is your only option cause XP doesn't even support it (dx10 that is).

Most of the poker software (PT,PAHUD,HM...) and postgreSQL work on Vista so that shouldn't be an issue anymore. It's just a matter of getting used to it and having a pc that can run it well.

So what I'm trying to say is, it's up to you, but sooner or later you will probably have to switch and if all software that you are using works on Vista, you might as well do it now.

you might as well get vista, no matter what it is next gen (for now). i have played with it a few times and like it enough to purchase it with my next machine.
