Default Thought for a Game

Ok, I had a thought for a game this morning. It is a last player standing, no night action game.

Basic Setup
Everyone is assigned a category of Rock, Paper, or Scissors. The groups are all even to begin with, but you only know your own category. Everyday someone gets voted off, but...

Voting
The value of the vote depends on the match up. I have two possible ways in mind:

1. If you vote for what beats you, your vote does not count (so if you are a rock and you vote for someone who is paper, your vote counts zero), if you vote for the same category, your vote counts one, and if you vote for someone in the category you beat, your vote counts 2.

2. If you vote same idea as above except the tallies are -1 (you get a vote!), 0 and 1.

At the end of the cycle, the real score is tallied and the final vote counts (or maybe just the count of the loser) is given and they leave the game. Also, the category the person was is announced.

Winning
This game can end in a tie if two people from the same group end up in the final two. If one of each end up in the final three, it is also drawn if everyone votes exactly right or everyone votes exactly wrong.

Also, n=number of people in each group (so 3n total player to start). Any time there are still at least n+2 players left, you can go for a 'bet your life' win. You pm everyones category, and if you are correct you leave the game a winner, if you are incorrect you just leave the game.

I think 15-18 people would be a good test run. Days for this could be really short (like 20-30 min, probably 3-4 days at a stretch) or normal.

sounds fun, and i'd play. but, i have a feeling once it got down to 5 players there'd be close to perfect information and draws could likely be forced a majority of the time.

I think this is the sort of game you could play without a discussion thread. If you just put the vote results & player lists each day, and then took votes by PM. I'm just not sure what the game would be in a group setting. Each person would then be on their own to put together the results of the voting.

EDIT: But, yeah, it looks really cool. I would definitely give it a try.

I'd prefer a thread. At least you can try some manipulation and deals :P

this sounds like a game where the voting could be 9-8 and we would still lynch mdoran with 1 vote? in!

I think negotiations would be a major point of play.

I agree that this game would work better without discussion. And perhaps whent he result is announced, the top two or three vote getters' vote totals should be released? That might strike a good balance between making the game boring because it's too easy, and making it a matter of luck because you don't have enough data.
