Re: bottom two not looking so good by the river
[ QUOTE ]
First off you need to either three bet flop or raise turn. You cant go through life with your tail between your legs. [/ QUOTE ]Or bet out on a non-diamond turn. By the river I think c/c is fine. |

Re: bottom two not looking so good by the river
So you're playing for exactly 75 BB's. If you lose 75 BB's on two-pair, it isn't the worst thing you could do, but in an unraised pot it's a little high for bottom two.
So you have to make your crucial decision when he makes his min-raise on the flop. Are you playing for stacks, or are you looking to get away if this hand is bad? Your call will put $75 in the pot and learn nothing for you. But a raise (if called) will bring the pot to $200+, and is really your last chance to get away from the hand. I think that the min-raise means one of three things: a monster, a draw, or a top pair medium kicker (from those very special players who adjust their bet size according to how strong their hand is). I think the monster is infrequent enough that you should raise the flop, or, as others suggest, call but bet out on any non-diamond turn. As played, I bet about 1/2 pot on the river. I haven't done the math to see if this leaves you pot-committed, though. If not, lay down to an all-in raise. |
