Hero has 99 in the small blind, middle position(unknown)limper calls, everybody folded to me, I raise, BB (TAG) calls, MP calls.

Flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] , 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] , I check, SB bets, MP folds, I call, wussboy that I am. figuring I would go for a check raise on the turn.

Turn is a red rag. I check, villain bets, now I rethink my plan think it is not the best strategy.

I don't get it. Are you afraid he has a flush? What would make you think that, he's only bet twice when checked too. Your hand looks like a big pair with a spade or just the lone K spades.
