I don\'t feel as though I am concentrating on my game....
OK, I bought my boardwalk condo in AC with the money I won in the 10/20 and 20/40 games in AC. To get my wife to accept a weekend apartment thing I sunk my entire bankroll into this place to show her I was committed to this idea. She is not the least interested in poker or gambling, so to get more time at the tables I had to buy a place where she would be comfortable, so goodbye poker bankroll. I figured this would be worth it, so I would get more time at the tables.
The trade off I made was that I had to move down to the lower limit 10/20 game, due to lack of that stack of hundreds I kept in my desk. I also have painting, a floor to install and other crap that has to be done on my apartment. So I slip out into the night to play 10/20, however, I haven't had one winning weekend in a month. This is so unlike me, since I was getting spoiled picking up the Benjamins for the last couple of years at the Taj and Borgata. I still study everyday when I read Sklansky for an hour to and from work on the subway in NYC. I also read twoplustwo constantly. Is this just variance? Or do I have my mind on other things? I know I don't suck that badly, since I have winning stats on sharkscope and officialpokerrankings.com(player name nineinchal), not to mention all my live winnings that I kissed bye bye when I laid the downpayment on the condo. So what is in my head that is defeating me lately? |

Re: I don\'t feel as though I am concentrating on my game....
This could easily just be variance, but I would stay away from the casino for a while. Focus on the condo renovations and keep studying in your spare time. When you're ready to devote your focus to the game again you'll know it.

If you bought your condo off poker winnings you can be sure your a big time winning player. 4 weekends of loosing sessions is nothing to be concerned with.

Re: I don\'t feel as though I am concentrating on my game....
I just took a month off (basically August) and started back playing a level below where I was (2/5 v 5/10 NL at the Borg.)
Am very very glad I did both financially and psychologically. You'll be fine, just varience at a bad time. Let it be a better time, then go kick the limit games in the rear. |
