This generally only works against the worst shortstacks, but it does happen on FTP.

also you don't have to deal with hand for hand which i could see being a huge pain in certain tourney structures

i think the main problem is with the sats.

eg a sunday mil sat can pay 1 player, with the next 9 or something getting the 2nd place prize whats up with that?

I believe that this is the best choice, no change to FT payouts and getting 10th is more rewarded than 18th.
