Default QQ hits set than everything goes wrong...

Villain is 23.8/7.6/6 He plays a solid tag game and is very aggressive post-flop. I was very happy to see that flop and made a bet a bit more than my usual continuation bet because of all the draws. From this guy, I expected a fold or a raise. His call made me suspicious, either he didn't believe I had a hand or he was drawing with a lot of outs.

The flush comes up on the turn plus the A (I'm not sure he would reraise me 100% of the time preflop with AA). So I checked thinking he will probably bet here. If I smell weakness I may check-raise him, but I will probably see a river. His check behind me on turn is totaly out of character for him.

The river completes the straight draw. I had no idea what to do, he fired a pot sized bet and I layed down a good hand against I have no idea what. But I don't see what hands good enough for a flop call can't beat a set here, any thought??? Comments on all streets welcomed...

I wish I could do that. I would have led the river and re-evaluated. He could be doing this with a lot of hands. Your play looks more like you c-bet and missed, then game up the rest of the way. Tough spot. What do others think?

That putting another dime in on the river is spewing. You beat nothing but a pure bluff on a board that is uglier than a naked Condalezza Rice.

Why on god's green earth would you lead this river? You have to check fold the river because you beat next to nothing here.

That is a really ugly turn card too. I don't think I play it that much differently.

Instinctively I would lead too, but how much seems right...40 hoping for the fold, and thats the last money in?

thanks

Lead for 40 and fold to a raise. But this is assuming we havnt seen the river yet. If he calls and the river comes, the hand will likely play the same way leading to a check/fold.

KJc got there ? .....that suxors !

I'd be tempted to bet around 45-50 , if he calls then it seems he is just pulling the ole rope-a-dope and a c/f is probably in order on the river
