But I am planning on drinking a bit the next time I go.

Nothing better than drinking beer out of a stein.

I've never tried Mead before. I hear it's a sweet form of beer.

Still wondering what it is, but where else would trebuchet ever come up in casual conversation?

Never been to one of these, but did go to Medieval Times by Giants Stadium and it was awesome.

I have gone to that also, however it does not even compare to a Ren Faire festival..not even close.

I swapped beers with some guys on this forum through the mail, and one of them was homemade mead. It was good, its like a cross between wine and beer, and fairly sweet.

SCA - the geekiest rung of the fencing ladder!

Though SCA is popular up here, this isn't an SCA event. Though it's pretty close to one, but with better quality from what I hear.

There are definitely some girls with cleavage on full display. Check out some pics of girls in a bodice for reference. One of the funniest lines I've read about renfests is: you can go without a costume and feel out of place for the day or you can dress up and feel out of place for the rest of your life.

I've been to a few, kind of boring to me. But my gf did henna at them and sold jewelry before that for years. I actually offered to buy the henna booth, but the girl that owns it wasn't ready to sell. It makes an absolute killing.

I definitely didn't mind lifting up her dress and banging her like a peasant wench. Might have to get her to break one out now that I'm thinking about it.

--Yea, mead is good.

Don't forget the $8 glasses of mead.

Yeah, these things are pretty leet; there's an excellent mix of ironic and earnest enjoyment to be had. Eat ridiculous food, throw axes at targets, act like you're too cool to be there, etc.

I heard they use honey in it.

Me not being a big beer drinker, I might like it better than beer.
