Default Re: Super System vs. Poker after Dark

A better comparison would be High Stakes Poker to his book... Honestly though... comparing how he plays to his book.... I doubt that he'd play how he wrote... even the book itself isn't a guideline to follow "how you should play" its just info on a way you can play... Overall it takes a lot more than a book to play like doyle brunson... It takes experience, and practice which you can't get from a book. This thread is pretty pointless.

Super/System was written for a different era of poker, where strategies were much less sophisticated, and much less defined. The basic foundation of what Doyle wrote is still applicable (in a TOP sense), but I would definitely never use it as a strat to model my play after in today's climate.
