When typing, ctrl+backspace will backspace a word at a time. Ctrl+delete will delete a word at a time. Ctrl+arrow keys will move the cursor through the text a word at a time.

http://www.tvguide.com/Listings/default.aspx is a pretty useful link for anyone who likes to play poker and watch tv at the same time.

Let go of the mouse.....!!!

In most apps (Excel in particular), you will navigate much more quickly if you use just the keyboard and the arrow keys and combinations of Ctrl, Shift and Page Up and Down. Every now and then you will need to use the mouse. And in case you don't know already:

Ctrl + Arrow takes you to the end of a block. Hold down shift to also highlight the block (s) while you navigate.

Ctrl + Page Up/Dn : Cycles through worksheets.

Ctrl + Tab: Cycles Through Workbooks (annoyingly, this does not work in MS Word).

F4: Repeat last action (most useful shortcut), eg formatting cells, delete cols etc
