Hand quiz - the ol\' cbet min c/r part 2
I posted a thread a week or two about dealing with min c/r after cbetting and I thought it generated some interesting conversations. The hands I posted generally involved flopping weakish draws, let's look at some hypothetical hands where we flop a bit better at 50nl
Hand #1 - Villain is 28/17/3 Villain (UTG+1) - $50 Hero (CO) - $50 Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain open limps, hero raises to $4, folded to villain who calls. Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (pot $8.75) Villain checks, hero bets $8, Villain raises to 16, Hero... Hand #2 - Villain is 57/12/2 Hero (Button) - $50 Villain (BB) - $30 Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero open raises to $4, Villain calls. Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (pot $8.25) Villain checks, hero bets $7.50, Villain raises to $15, Hero Hand #3 - Villain is 19/17/3 - his fold to cbet % is around 45% over a large sample and his fold BB to steal is 65% Hero (Button) - $50 Villain (BB) - $50 Hero is dealt J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero open raises to $4, villain calls Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (pot $8.25) Villain checks, Hero bets $7.5, Villain raises to $15, Hero Hand #4 - Villain is 65/47/2.5 Hero (Button) - $50 Villain (BB) - $50 Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero open raises to $4, villain cals Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (pot $8.25) Villain checks, Hero bets $7.5, Villain raises to $15, Hero |

Re: Hand quiz - the ol\' cbet min c/r part 2
good quiz.
i'm a bit tired, but i'll have a stab. not much explanation i'm afraid. 1. raise. drawy flop, decent hand, aggro villain who is unlikely to have a better K. raise is not really for value though. 2. call. dry flop, middle pair, chance to improve, dodgy villain. call a small bet on turn. closest one to a fold IMO. 3. call. very wet flop, good chance we'll get shoved on and have to fold. also we don't have that much equity against his range (TP<TK), but he's stubbon so we can definately continue with the hand. 4. call lagtard with top pair. buckle up. |

cool idea, but I think you confused 50nl and 100nl w/r/t bet sizing.

Lol you're right. That's why I usually do these quizzes in BB's. Just pretend I'm not an idiot, stacks are full except for hand #2.

Re: Hand quiz - the ol\' cbet min c/r part 2
My reaction in a game would be:
1. Fold 2. Fold 3. Raise 4. Fold. (We have TP but he probably does to) Obviously I'm weak-tight and need to evaluate this aspect of my game. |

Re: Hand quiz - the ol\' cbet min c/r part 2
Hand 1: I fold, it is unlikely villain would c/r a draw here, even if it's a minirase. He could be doing it with AK, 2-pair or a set here.
Hand 2: Fold, if we call, we are going all-the way in because of stack sizes. This isn't even TP! Hand 3: I still fold, see hand 1 and his large % of folding to a steal Hand 4: Uncoordinated board and villain c/r? I see the ace, he see's the ace. He shows a lot of strength, I fold. It does kinda smell like a pocket pair though Crovax |

If the pfr size was correct then the villain with the short stack would have more behind so we wouldn't be playing for stacks just yet. |
