Curious (And Essentially Worhless) Suits Question
I was curious if suits are used for made flushes, or are they just for the bring-in?
For example: Player 1 has A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] x[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] x[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Player 2 has A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] x[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] x[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Does player 1 beat player 2 because spades beats clubs, or do they split the pot? |

Re: Curious (And Essentially Worhless) Suits Question
if there was a chip in the pot that couldnt be split would it be used to decide who gets the extra chips?
For example, 21$in the pot and $1 is the smallest chip. |

Re: Curious (And Essentially Worhless) Suits Question
This is a good question. I don't the answer. In hold;em, the extra chip goes to the person closest to the left of the dealer (i.e. the person with worst position), so my guess would be that it goes to to the person with the lowest board??

Re: Curious (And Essentially Worhless) Suits Question
I saw this sort of thing once or twice live, usually we just gave the extra buck to the dealer. Online I think they split 50 cent/50 cent.

Re: Curious (And Essentially Worhless) Suits Question
In this case, the odd chip goes to the the player with the highest-ranking card in his hand, so in the hand in the original post, the guy with the spades would get the odd chip. I have never seen this come up.

Re: Curious (And Essentially Worhless) Suits Question
I think the extra buck goes to the first player to the left of the dealer.
(First player in the hand, that is. Don't laugh, I've seen a dealer award the chip to a player not in the hand because she was to the left of the button.) |
