Re: meh river
I check and call. AJ is about the only hand you could get value from. I can't see him folding anything that beats you.

Re: meh river
oink unknowns are less likely to be tags since tags usually multitable (you'll have hands on them) and they're also less likely to be randomly changing sites. whenever you encounter an unknown you need to realize that there's a higher chance this is a "i deposited $200" fish than a "i'm a solid player and just decided to switch sites" or "i'm a solid player and i play here but i haven't played a single hand with you even though i play the same limits and we've both played 10,000 hands at these limits."

Re: meh river
ya definetely
good point. I guess I considered him a random player because nina recently moved up. But you are right of course. c/c an unknown should be the play and I should stop with the fancy pants stuff |

Re: meh river
He has Ax or a weak pair. Maybe QJ or KQ.
c/c is only good if he bluffs QJ, KQ Betting gets value if he wants to SD AJ, A8 as he will check these. If you c/c here he will value own you with low pp's and prolly not bluff often enough for the call to be +EV. Not much value in a bet either but I like that over c/c because of the above. Dunno. I dont like c/f. I dont like c/c and I dont like betting - but its the one I hate the least (puke a little and call if he raises) |

Re: meh river
Actually I think this should be a c/f here. I'm just thinking of what he will 3 bet with and call the flop and turn that you can profitably c/c here. AJ,KQ,QJ? Well, maybe it's close to a c/c and in truth I probably due it but I'm thinking he's checking those very often anyway.

Re: meh river
I agree that c/f might very well be better than c/c
Which is why I like betting as it prevents you from c/f the best hand. This guy is gonna bet QJ, KQ with non zero probability and when he does betting blocks that bluff |
