Default HSP Season 3 hand: Benyamine(J2o)/Esfandiari(34o)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=NMC9ksRSJyc

Just curious to see what people think of Benyamine's cc of the 3rd raise on the turn and Esfandiari's river check behind.

Basic recap of the hand...
Folded to Benyamine who raises from the SB to 2300 w/ J2o,
Esfandiari defends w/ 43o from the BB.

FLOP: 9c Jx Ax
Benyamine leads for 4k, Esfandiari decides to float and cc's 4k
TURN: 2c
Benyamine leads for 18k, Esfandiari makes it 42k, Benyamine makes it 72k, Esfandiari(tanks finds out how deep Benyamine is *140k*) makes 40k mroe to 102k total, Benyamine calls.

RIVER: 8c
chk-chk

I love how Esfandiari played it.. right up until he lost his nerve on the river. Why did he not bet Benyamine's last 100k when the best possible bluff card in the world comes up. It would seem that if you're going to float a guy like that, you might as well go all the way with it. He obv had Benyamine on the ropes with the 4 bet turn, but just couldn't fire the last barrell.

One of THE best hands of HSP thus far IMO.

**Sorry if this has already been discussed. I could not find any threads on it.

But why? Are you saying he should have put less money into the pot?

No way Benyamine folds on the river, even with that scare card. Would Esfandiari really 4-bet with a draw there?

Yes. Also, did Benyamine look like he liked his hand on the turn there? You think he snapcalls for his stack on this river?

From Abas recent blog entry:
"I opened from the cutoff in the NLH rotation with the Ad 8h and was cold called by David Benyamine who was on the button, both blinds folded and we took the flop HU. We both had plenty of money in front of us. The flop was Kd 8d 9d and I checked. David bet ~20K into a 20K pot and I check raised 60K more. He called and the turn brought the 6s. I lead for 135K and he called again. River brought the Qh and I fired for 400K and he almost instantly called me with AK with no diamonds."

Its bit different yes, but this proves that Benyamine is definitely capable of calling thin if he thinks hes being bluffed.

I'm not sure what Antonio was trying to do with this hand other than simply outplay Benyamine. He didn't have that much invested in the hand to begin with. Then, on the turn, once David reraises him, it's pretty obvious that he is not going anywhere -- what sort of draw could he be on. I think that was Esfandiari's chance to get away from the hand.
