Wow. WTF kind of people have like 15 of the top 20 rock songs ever coming from the 80's and 90's. No Rolling Stones, no Beatles, but the Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, and Metallica all have 2 songs on the list??!! I've never even heard like 4 or 5 of these songs and probably never will.

edit:

Just noticed it's from New Zealand, when I first read it, I thought it was AZ. Is David Hasselhoff a popular musician down there?

As long as ACDC is at the top of the list the world is right.

wow, i love the foo fighters, but there is no way they are responsible for 5 of the top 100 rock songs of all time. Meanwhile zepplin has 2 songs in the top 100.

Does anyone else think that counting down the top 1000 of anything is rediculous. I mean how do you distinguish between 695 and 696 best song of all time.

Man I heard that song for the first time listening to this countdown, what a bloody awesome song it is too.

Im in agreeance with everyone here. Everlong maybe but theres no way best of you should even be in top 1000 let alone top 20.

You'd never heard Freebird until 2007?

As far as New Zealand is concerned, rock and roll was born in 1983.

this list is surprisingly bad, even for one voted on by radio listeners

The list gets worse, much worse...I was appalled at some of the choices, and by one major band not any where on the list - Rush. Sad, just sad.

Ugh where the hell is Layla. Also it's funny how exactly zero Beatles songs made the top ONE THOUSAND.

Europe being 1000 just takes the [censored] cake. That song is definitely top 100 maybe even 50 material, but instead it is beaten by so many songs that are barely even rock. I see rock is now fully endorsed by the fanny brigade instead of meaning loud ... rocky.. music. Radiohead Creep?! WHAT THE [censored]? I suppose you're already in the lower percentiles of being human when you submit songs to these lists though. Especially if you are someone who votes for U [censored] 2.

Imagine a song that makes you want to smash tyranny, [censored] blondes and drink warm beer. If you imagined U2, [censored] off.

Queen doesn't show up until #13 and the Foo Fighters make the list twice. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Doors are completely absent, but Rage Against the Machine makes the top ten.

I give up. Just reading that list has sapped my will to argue.
