Re: ** Official August Chat Thread: The White Swan **
There is $10 dead in the pot when it is to him to call. He called 15.50 and won $117.15 + the $3 that he had put in the pot.
$120.15/15.5 = 7.75, so it is barely -EV if no one else calls. He is the first caller, so it isn't going to be the only caller all the time. If another player calls he is getting 8.75x and if all 3 of the others call he is getting over 10x even if only you stacks off against him. Had he been the last to call, then it would be slightly bad, given how the hand played out it is really just a high variance breakeven play. But his call is not horrible, the only way it is really horrile is if one of the guys left to call is likely to reraise again. |

Ah, interesting to hear.
Not too mad, I thought for sure he had QQ+ because I didn't realize he had limped in, so I figured it was a safe flop. Oh well, hot streak had to end sometime. |

What is the definition of "donkbet"? I thought it meant minraise, but I've seen it used in different context lately.

Re: ** Official August Chat Thread: The White Swan **
it's my understanding that it's when an oop caller bets into a raiser, usually for a small amount though i don't think that really is a requirement

Re: ** Official August Chat Thread: The White Swan **
It's not ALWAYS a bad play, but usually the people who do it regularly are bad...
