Re: Northern Illinois -13.5 @ Miami (OH)
"NIU looks pretty bad so far," he typed, intending to add "with Miami moving the ball very easily." Then Northern Illinois got an interception, and he decided to type something else instead.

BJB was that in reference to me? Garrett Wolfe looked nice on that 55-yard run. Miami added insult to injury with that unnecessary roughness penalty after Wolfe was in the endzone.

No, "he" was a reference to me. I was in the middle of typing something when they threw that pick, so I put everything I had already typed into quotation marks.
As for the game, that long run was sick, but those long passes by Miami are making me sick... |

[/ QUOTE ] oh, my fault. yeah, NIU allows a suspect 272 ypg in the air, but i didn't expect all of those yards to be from the 1st half. loving that crucial 3rd and goal sack that forced the FG. Halftime NIU 17 MIA 12 |

Re: Northern Illinois -13.5 @ Miami (OH)
Miami impressively fails to punch it in when they get to the 2 yard-line.
The botched xtra-point was pretty embarassing too. Even after he had it down and wasn't holding it cleanly there was still a decent chance that the kick could have gone through. Miami's kicking game does look horrendous. But this guy did hit a 48-yd FG last week. Miami has been able to penetrate NIU's O-line and get to Wolfe and to their QB. Even at 0-5 and a weird Sunday night game I'm surprised there aren't more fans there. Typically the student turn-out is much better than that. Weather is nice too. Fans at my alma-mater sometimes have a rep of apathy. Other times they are great, but tonight does not appear to be one of those times. NIU does not look very good to me and this was exactly why I didn't think they deserved to be a 14 point fave on the road. Miami is killing their secondary (except for their FIRST interception of the yr) and they appear to be making numerous other mistakes as best I can observe. |

Re: Northern Illinois -13.5 @ Miami (OH)
Northern Illinois has yet to put much pressure on Kokal, which is unexcusable considering they have the 119th (out of 119) ranked O-Line. I'm not liking the NIU secondary at all right now, though.
And Miami takes the lead, 18-17. [censored]. Garrett Wolfe's gonna need to take this game over by himself. |

Re: Northern Illinois -13.5 @ Miami (OH)
miami cannot throw an incomplete pass unless they throw it out of bounds. this is horrible horrible horrible. the running back just threw the ball 48 yards. in addition there was some penalty for 15 yards, this is looking horrible.

Re: Northern Illinois -13.5 @ Miami (OH)
great stop on 4th and 6, then frustrating dropped pass by NIU. hopefully with 2:30 left, miami can't find the endzone. sigh.
