I cannot beleive so many people speak of this book so highly. I read it last week and it did not present a single piece of information that isn't blatantly obvious to anyone with half a brain. Sure it might be nice at an introductory level for someone who knows absolutely nothing about poker. But other than that, what is the big fuss about?

Hi CF,

I heard Sklansky's gonna do a 21st century edition, and finally put some useful stuff in there. Maybe you can get a free copy, since you got ripped off so bad buying the useless edition. Good luck at the tables.

I can't stand Shakespeare because it is full of so many cliches.

Exactly. Reminds me of the literature thread where someone said that Shakespeare is overrated and the OOT thread where someone gave Bo Derek, the star of "10", a 3.5.

Most people are so full of crap that they can't see beyond the crap they are full of, and like a poor man's Midas, turn everything they touch into crap.

I guess I am not as quick as you. For example, I can't figure out the purpose of this post.

Maybe obvious, but can you apply it in your games at the right time? That is the trick.

Can you please provide some examples as to why the information presented in this book is blatantly obvious to anyone with half a brain?????

Its a good book so sorry CF but you are in the vast minority if you think it isnt. Trust me, if you reread a few more times and try to understand the concepts in the book (that you've apparently found obvious all your life) you too will become a winning player at $10 STTs

Try looking at the book again. This time don't read it like a novel but study it.
