Evel.

He was just a touch before my time but his name was still part of our jargon growing up, referring to someone who was reckless.

From Wiki:

"Knievel dropped out of high school after his sophomore year and got a job with the Anaconda Mining Company as a diamond drill operator in the copper mines. He was promoted to surface duty where his job was driving a large earth mover. Knievel was fired when he made the earth mover pop a motorcycle-type wheelie and drove it into Butte's main power line, leaving the city without electricity for several hours."

Edit: Anyone else have that toy stunt cycle with the serrated plastic rip cord?...good times.

I'll remember watching him on Wide World of Sports on the weekends jumping over something/anything.

RIP Evel

I remember having two of these when I was a kid in the 70's. You could pose Evel however you wanted on the handlebars or footpegs, and then insert the ripcord, yank on it and away he went doin wheelies or crashing in to crap.
