Bet Sizing Question Based on Actual Live Hand (Fixed hand typo)
10 game live hand at the MGM in Vegas... I have just sat down so no reads. 1/2 no limit. I am in middle position with a Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
HERO: $170 BTN: $450 Preflop: Hero is dealt Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (10 Players) fold, limp, Hero calls, fold, limp, BTN limps, SB completes, BB checks. Flop: ($12) Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players) SB checks, BB checks, EP checks, Hero bets $20, fold, BTN calls, SB folds, BB folds Turn: ($52) 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $40 Button calls $40 River: ($132) 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, Button pushes all in for $108 more Hero??? Comments on the turn bet?? The river check? Action afterwards? Likely hands of the opponent. I am struggling with these hands and the reverse implied odds I am giving to people who might draw out on me. |

Re: Bet Sizing Question Based on Actual Live Hand
you check river to induce a bluff, so call.
I don't think you can cf that river because would villain really call with bottom pair? This looks a lot like Tx/bluff to me because I would think a player would value bet KT/trips here. |

Re: Bet Sizing Question Based on Actual Live Hand
Yeah, you only lose to T9, really, lol, unless he is a habitual slow-player.
Btw, don't like how you played the hand. Raise preflop. And as played I would check-raise the turn all-in rather than bet the turn. |

Re: Bet Sizing Question Based on Actual Live Hand
yes... agree now I should have raised pre-flop. It was the third hand I played so I was feeling things out.
As played with the weak limp pre-flop, how about the betting afterwards? I did not check the turn because I thought the button was calling with a draw. |

I did not check the turn because I thought the button was calling with a draw. [/ QUOTE ] which is exactly why you snap call the river because no draw got there. He's got like TJ/AT/T7 there a lot. If he's got T9, reload. |

Re: Bet Sizing Question Based on Actual Live Hand
c/r AI is a nice turn line too now that I think about it ... you can fold the river easier if a king or an eight comes if you check the turn and villain checks behind, but they may either have an overpair or a ten, which could bet the turn.

Re: Bet Sizing Question Based on Actual Live Hand
crap... i mistyped the hand. The river was the 8 hearts. No wonder my question looked stupid. The draw came. very sorry about that...

If you thought he had a draw why are you confused on the river?

Re: Bet Sizing Question Based on Actual Live Hand
i folded... I was confused on whether I should have and whether I should have played it differently on the turn.
the guy told me he had A-10. He could have been lying but it sounds about right. |
