Funny thing is about 60% of the players at my tables had no idea WTF I was talking about. When I told them to start playing on FTP after Friday?

"What happens on Friday?"
"You're so full of [censored]!! stop spamming!!"
"Party would have said something"

[/ QUOTE ]

Wait a minute...what happens Friday? I read that Bush was going to sign the bill in November...does anyone have a link saying otherwise?

He's signing it on Friday, I'm too lazy to find a link but it's been posted several times.

The article from which you gathered this information contained some kind of error. The Bill has to be signed into law within two weeks; obviously, November is not in this time frame.

Josh,

I have never played a play money game on party, but I assume that such play money tables do have chat, and that they will be letting americans still play on this after Friday. So I guess that could be a further opportunity to spam them. Even just letting euros know why the sudden decrease in players might have an effect in getting some of them to look around for sites that still allow americans and thus have larger player pools.

Also, if someone could get a news story written about where americans are continuing to play out there, then that might reach a larger fish audience as well.

I agree, I've been doing this on most tables that I'm on, telling them that FTP looks like it'll be the best place to play (mentioning the $600 signup bonus helps too)

When I started playing, Paradise was the biggest site and I played there because it was the one site I'd heard of. I had a vague notion that there were other sites out there, but I didn't feel comfortable signing up at any of them until I found PokerPulse. It was an objective source of information and I used it as my guidebook to the wider world of online poker, where size does matter.

My point is this: We need to let people know there are alternatives to PartyPoker. It is tempting to just mention your favorite fishing spots, but it may be more effective to refer them to an objective, comprehensive poker info site, whether it's PokerSiteScout, BW or whatever. Plus it looks less like you're a paid shill for a particular site that way.

Open their eyes and let them decide where to play.

It is doubtful you will be reported, but mentioning other sites is against Party's T&C. Some guy got pissed after I typed "lol" in the chat at him, and he challenged me to heads up. I wanted to play on Stars, so I didn't get raked to death (this was 5/10 limit). He refused and reported me to Party, and they sent me an e-mail threatening to ban me if I did it again.

Just a heads up.
