Default standard 4 bet AI with AK here?

Neither I nor villian have been caught out of line. ~450 left and 270 make the money. Standard shove with these stacks?

Given it's against the BB, his raising range is probably pretty light, figuring you're making a position raise more than a strength raise. I think it's a fine play, maybe not completely necessary, but OK.

Would you just call as an alternative and play a flop? Or RR but not AI, and if so to what amount?

What's the buyin here?

First, I would never flat call the r/r here. It's too much in relation to your stack and you'll likely face a flop bet with a hand that needs help to win.

Agree that this looks like a steal and he shows up w/ hands you crush for a shove to be cEV+. Obv higher variance, but still cEV+.

I think playing and seeing the flop would be much better here. Reraising a 4000 bet to say 10000 and leaving yourself 1-2k behind is just silly. Given relatively deep stacks, flop play is possible and better. If this was AKs it'd be a little different because then you could have flush hits as well, but with AKo, you're in need of an ace or king, assuming he has you beat (22-QQ) preflop. It depends really on the read(s) you have on him. I do think he's going to raise you very lightly though, but I'm kind of unsure how lightly unless I has reads.

Shove is standard. Calling is terrible.
Boring hand.

But 4000 chips is 26% of my original stack and leaves me 11,000 chips behind or ~27BB's ... so I would still be in good position relative to the structure if I felt like getting away from the hand on the flop. Plus, a call lets me see a flop in position, whereas if I was OOP I would prefer to negate that disadvantage by shoving.... or is this just crazy thinking for this buyin?
