Default 11t - Shoving PF w/ AKs First Hand

First hand of an 11 on FT, UTG limps and everyone limps besides the CO to me in the button. Pot is 195. I shove A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] . What's the worst hand you do this with? Do you do this?

Shoving isn't bad but you lose a lot of value by not raising to like t180 or w/e.

Maybe it's exploitable but it seems like AK is a hand you want everyone to fold with, not call with. Villains always seem to play perfectly when I have it

At this level you could have people calling with random pocket pairs. I'd also say just raise a good amount here, 180ish seems fine. Bit early to be racing if that's the case.

I'd rather raise to 180. Some people will limp with smaller pocket pairs and will snap call your shove. I'd make a solid raise and hope Ax comes along for the ride.

I certainly don't hate a shove but a nice raise to like 180 as eveyone says sounds nice. It clears alot of the trash out usually and if one or two call and you hit the flop you've buitl a nice pot making it easier to stack off.

I like the push. It's fun to mix it up, but if you called it's coin flip as usual.

If you push here you will get called by pairs a lot, and only a lesser ace occasionally. In level 1 you do not want to race for your whole stack. You make your money in these SnGs by outplaying them on the bubble, not getting your money all in as a 45-55% favorite.

Now, sometimes of course you get stuck into racing early, but here you have a choice. I like raising to 180-200 and likely getting it HU. The pot is small enough to still make a CB if you miss, but big enough you can stack the caller by the river if you hit.

I would say raise, I would make it around 237 in position and limp out of position and hit the flop crush there raise.
Then take a short break after your double, come back in when blinds get to 75/150 and crush the rest of the field.

At lower levels I often do this as I know that I'll get called by AQ and worse, but here I'd need a read that someone in the pot will stack off with trash.
