Re: It\'s that time again...What are YOU paying for gas?
I own (family business) a gas station in Arlington, VA and we are currently charging $3.11 for regular, $3.24 for plus and $3.34 for supreme. It's an Exxon and our profit is only about 5 cents per gallon.

No waiiiiiiiiiii....say it isn't soooo, this is unbelievable!!!
[ QUOTE ] WASHINGTON - With Congress and the White House pushing to increases the use of ethanol, the oil industry is scaling back its plans to expand refineries — which could keep gasoline prices high, possibly for years to come. [/ QUOTE ] Who wouldda ever thunkeded it?!?!?!?! ethanol....lol...haven't they figured out a better lie yet to hide their true agenda?? i wish i had a president in my pocket (and a hole in my pants) |

Re: It\'s that time again...What are YOU paying for gas?
Gas is actually a great bargain. Considering that most Americans are willing to pay more per gallon for bottled water, which they can actually get for free out of their own tap, than they are for gas, which takes a great deal more work and expertise to bring to the consumer, people shouldn't be whining as much as they are. Take a look at what people pay for it in Europe.
Gas is very, very cheap. |

Re: It\'s that time again...What are YOU paying for gas?
Okay, so let me get this straight, if President Bush had squelched the idea of using more ethanol, it'd be an obvious sign that he was doing the bidding of Big Oil. But since Bush is basically driving the Ethanol Bandwagon, that also proves that he's doing the bidding of Big Oil.
Uh, okayyyyyy. Anyway, I filled up the other day for $3.019 here in South Bend, Indiana. That's a 58-cent (16%) decrease in less than a month. Also, that doesn't count the five-cent instant savings promotion my favorite gas station produces, nor does it count the 4% savings when you buy a gas card worth $25 or more. So I truly paid $3.019 - .05 - 4% = $2.85. [censored] oil companies and gas stations and their dirty dirty profiteering. Bastards. |

Re: It\'s that time again...What are YOU paying for gas?
we are never going to switch to ethanol and everybody knows it. alternative energy will be in the form of some sort of electrical/battery, which is where the push should be for...if they really wanted alternative energy...which they don't.
they 'push' it because they know it will never happen. |

Ethanol is a stopgap. It's less efficient and more polluting, but it's cheaper because we have a [censored]-load of corn.
We have a [censored]-load of oil, too, just that nobody wants to drill for it. |
