Uh, lots. It's a very open-ended degree that gives you a good base for a ton of things. You can sort of decide what you want to prepare for by what courses you actually take.

There is a scene from the Simpsons where the doctor has to tell a football player his career is over and he says "Well you may never play football again, but at least you can fall back on your degree in......COMMUNICATIONS!? dear god..." or something similar.

My brother has a degree in communications....and he currently works at a liquor store.

A friend that majored in communications, however, now works for a major newspaper. The trick with comm. major is that you need to get heavily involved in college. Nobody cares if you have that degree, but if you have a couple years experience in the college paper or radio station, or great internships, then it can lead to a very cool career.

Isn't Comm the most useless degree ever? It's as easy as it gets but isn't worth much IIRC.

Fwiw, I am majoring in this, but it isn't my only major and I also have a long-running internship that I can keep doing as long as I want. I would never have majored in this just by itself. You get out of it what you put into it, just like any other major. Talk to some faculty in the department if you're really curious about it, I know here they have all sorts of information about where grads went, what they're doing now, what connections are available, etc. which helped me a lot with deciding to actually do it.

education isn't useless if you want to be a teacher.
