if it helps, i got a degree in philosophy. and ive never regretted it. it doesnt naturally lead into any jobs, but it teaches you how to think properly, which is priceless. after 4 years of that stuff, i felt like a new and better person, able to conquer whatever i wanted to in the world.
im not saying you should study that, but take a few various 100 level courses and see what piques your interest and then just go for that, regardless of what the job prospects are. believe me, the least happiest people i know are the ones who got good degrees and now have 'career' jobs. that life is a trap.

[/ QUOTE ] Do this. Freshman year is for exploring. Heck, you can also delay declaring if you're not sure. Or change later. Don't worry about your potential major so early on.

If you are to do science, regardless of what type, you will be doing labs (biology, chemistry, and physics are full of them). Biology in general is just tons of memorization, whereas physics is heavily math involved, and chemistry is somewhat of a balance of memorization and math, but relies heavy on understanding "concepts" and knowing how to apply them. If you really want to go to law school, i'd suggest philosophy and maybe even psychology (not necessarily both, but either). In general though if you know for a fact what that you will go to law school, id take something you enjoy and will do well at, because sadly grades are much more important than what your actual degree will be in.

[/ QUOTE ] Yea this is what I was going to say. Just chill out. Almost everyone changes their major in college so going in with such single-minded focus could even be detrimental. Take some lower level courses in a variety of subjects (probably something you will have to do regardless of if you want to), and feel it out. At our school, you don't officially have to declare a major to the end of your 3rd year. Of course by that time everyone has decided (for the most part), but there is no need to rush it.
