Default JJ, my image makes this difficult.

Villain is dsindy, in my opinion Top 3 10/20nl players on FTP. I'm playing him on several tables that are playing 3 to 4-handed, getting cards, and he probably thinks I'm semi-maniacal. So while normally I think I may be beat here, given our history this session folding doesn't seem right either. Wasn't sure about this one.

Stack sizes:
UTG: $1614
Hero: $3577.25
SB: $2000
BB: $3054

Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
UTG folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $70</font>, SB folds, <font color="#cc0000">BB raises to $220</font>, Hero calls.

Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($450, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">BB bets $360</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($1170, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">BB bets $860</font>, Hero calls.

River: 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($2890, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">BB is all-in $1614</font>, Hero calls.

Anyone play this different?

Kirk

Your hand is face up. He's not trying to get you to fold if he thinks you're a maniac I don't think. I fold it.

You're seriously underestimaing the range of hands he'll re-raise all-in with here, especially with 150bb.

Then if that's the case, raise the flop and if he pushes just call knowing your are ahead most of the time.

only 150bb in a shorthanded agro game this seems pretty standard.

playing 'maniacal' definately makes playing medium strength hands more difficult as can now eek more value than if you had an nitty image but you have to be careful esp w. big riv decisions like this.

how often does he v. bet 9x or TT here? vs a "maniac" who is capable of making "thin calls" I can see him playing those hands like this.

but you're getting great odds on riv and I think we see worse made hands and the occasional bluff here now and then to make this call ok.

2/3rd pot riv bluff? I highly doubt it... You beat Ah Kh /Qh combo.....not much else, except the obv air... No way he has A9/TT here.... I'm guessing KK.

Wow... I never realized poker was this incredibly simple. Your stellar analysis in this thread is making me quickly realize how much more I have yet to learn.

Ok, so what was your plan and thinking after calling the flop bet Mr. Kirk?
