I talked to Jeff Madsen briefly on AIM and he's pretty damn pissed.

As much as I like GS, this is incredibly lame. He wimped out of the 'tattoo other guys name on butt'-bet too and got the tattoo higher up where it wouldn't hurt so much and be less embarrasing.

It's not even like this one would be that big of a deal - compared to the bearsuit Joe had to wear last year I'm sure a jester-costume could be made pretty comfortable and not hinder his play.

Curious b/c Gavin is a bright guy and must understand the publicity value of the jester stunt.

If he "bought his way out", then someone took the money and should "share the blame".

Absolutely right !!! I think The Bear (or his new nickname The Rabbi) should take sebs behind the barn and paddle his dumb ass for selling the bet so badly. Let Gavin buy out day 2-end at 10K per day but he MUST wear the suit day 1, then you can offer the same buy out to Madsen at the same price and no harm is done. Sebs screwed Madsen and himself by doing this buyout.

Seriously Sebok is ok but The Rabbi needs to fix his negotiation skills because they are seriously weak.

Is it common to buy out of a bet once it has reached its conclusion? I thought this really only happened when there was still a small chance for a different outcome.

Anyone else tired of the whole Seebok/Smith/Madsen prop bet thing? It's in Cardplayer, Bluff, Pokernews updates and video. Ugh. Too attention-whorish for me. Just play poker.
