Default Recommend me some toilet reading material

I love to sit on the john and read a book but its basically impossible to read something real. I like learning things about the world i live in (be it about science art geography mathematics physics whatever).

Recommend me some books that are good to open to any page, read for 5-10 and then close pls!

I dunno if this is up your alley, but Jorge Luis Borges' "The Aleph and Other Stories" is perfect. A bunch of fascinating, beautifully written short stories ranging from 1-10 pages in length. FWIW he's considered the most important Spanish-language writer since Cervantes, and his stuff is spectacular.

I'm gonna give a no to this one. The first words I could think of for Borges were dense, slow, obscure, and oblique. This is not the kind of thing you want freezing your colon when you're trying to push a reluctant one out. If you weren't constipated before you read Borges, you probably will be afterward.

Uncle John's Bathroom Reader is pretty good. It's full of 2-3 page articles. Mostly, kind of a fun facts kind of thing. It also has some longer, more in depth articles that take more than one sitting. A couple of years ago, the book had a real nice history of US and Iranian relations.

Almanacs are always good. Also the Bible's not bad. It's full of short stories, parables, sayings, etc.
