Default Mason Malmuth\'s Poker Essays

I recently saw Mason Malmuth's book "Poker Essays" (I think I have the title right; if not, it is close) at a book store and wondered if it is worth getting. I took a quick look and didn't think that it looked very interesting. However, it was only a quick look, so I certainly don't know for sure. Has anyone read it, and if so, is it worth buying?

People's opinion around here on the three book series usually ranges between 'good' and 'you are an idiot for not already owning them.'

The first volume is a little dated and not as well written as the other two. I think that volume 3 is by far the best of the three. Volume 3 is definitely worth your time.

I purchased and read them recently. They all offer something and like "afish" I think Volume III is the best.

I also recommend them. What I like about them is that they contain a broad range of topics, and as you don't have to read them in any particular order, you can flick open any topic that you need some advice on at that moment in time.

As one of the above posters said, there are one ore two topics outdated, but on the whole, all three are well worth purchasing.

is the book geared strictly around limit games??
i play only NLHE, i mess around playing omaha and stud (NL and PL ring and torneys) sometimes but only play NLHE seriously. i very rarely play limits.
