Re: Bankroll beginnings
Put $50 into Bodog in March and started short stacking nl 50..Probably about the same month, deposited another $150 at Bodog and when I worked it up to about ~800, started playing nl 100 6max....Just started to make the switch from Dog to FTP, still nl 100, but what a difference.....
I like FTP much better and I think it's a better place to play if you want to develop your game.... Just my 2c |

Re: Bankroll beginnings
basic math:
600 hands/hour 6 hours day (+ 2 hours study/improving your play) 20 days/month 11 months (vacation) = 70k hands/month or 770k hands/year 4ptbb/100 at nl200 = 16$/100 = 11 200$/month = 123 200 $/year (pre taxes) and this excludes rakeback which is like 1ptbb/100? so 2800$ RB/month or 30 000$ RB/year, but using rakeback to build your bankroll so you can move up seems like a good idea this seems a realistic work schedule and totally discounts the fact that you will get a lot better when you work on improving your play 2h/day in addition to playing for 6 hours ... |

Re: Bankroll beginnings
started playing homegame cash/donkaments about 3 years ago, a friend was playing online and said he made like $200, i was "wow", ill give it a try. put $20 onto pacific poker about 8-10 times, played $5 sng's and 10nl mostly, but as soon as i won some money i would move up (2 buyin bankroll FTW). finally (after about 1.5yrs) got pissed off @ losing, found pokertracker and 2+2 around feb this year and started taking it seriously and slowly ground up a mediocre bankroll. currently hovering around 50-200nl.
edit: poker has been my sole source of income since around march, have cashed out about 3x what i have in my roll now, huge beat, i need to get a job or something to speed things up. |

Not saying it's impossible -- it isn't but most people either get sick of poker or don't maintain that work ethic. Not being a hater, but really how often do we see fgator-lik e number of hands @ 200nl w/ 4ptbb/100? |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah I'm at 40K with like 600 hours played this year playing mainly 200nl 6 max. With a better win rate could be higher. If I could extent that to 40 hours a weak obv enough to live on. And I am far from the best 1/2 player on pokerstars I think. So pretty easy to make a living off poker. You just have to consider how many bridges you burn. Obv it won't be this easy forever. |

Re: Bankroll beginnings
That's why I said 50k should be piece of cake. Everyone won't/wouldn't maintain 6 hours per day for a year.
