Alton Brown did a deep fried mac and cheese, but I don't think with corn meal.

found it: he calls it "toast".

wow that sounds good with the panko crumbs. Maybe I'll just try that if i can't get it to work with cornbread batter.

FWIW, I'm 6' 165lbs. I try to put on all my weight in my arteries....

Looks like a straightforward substitution of corn meal for the bread crumbs would work, and give you a hushpuppy flavor

Hey, I'm looking to make some mac & cheese deep fried in cornbread (basically a hush puppy filled with mac & cheese), but I can't find anything!

I'm sure one of you slobs out there has had it homemade before, so I need your help!

I really want to make some of these.

I've found recipes for hushpuppies, and I've found recipes for deep-fried mac & cheese, but I don't think I can just combine them together.

Deep fried mac & cheese is just taking a pan of mac & cheese, chilling it, cutting it into squares and breading it with flower and stuff... i need some cornbread in there...

PLEASE HALP!

I know the mac and cheese part is done, but check out this thread for more recipes.

Ok. Just make some corn bread batter. Easy right? Now make some Mac and cheese. Mix the Mac and cheese in to the bowl of cornbread batter. Now refrigerate for a few hours, maybe even freeze. Just make sure it sets up good enough to make a ball out of. Now make it into little balls, bread it and fry those little morsels up. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Anyone else heard of fried Coke? Apparently they had some at the SC state fair. The first question that came to mind when I heard was how they made them, and then I thought of steamed soup dumplings from Shanghai Joe's. Since those are basically heaven, fried coke can't be too far off, right?
