Isn't it safe to assume that many internet greats would have a hard time adjusting to the live Big Games

[/ QUOTE ]
No.

[ QUOTE ]
i'm cetainly not going to be making anyone look bad, but i'll give my opinion on the overall strength of the game/players.
, what if your honest opinion does make some people look bad? What if Gabe Thaler doesn't play much better than a top MSNL player?

[/ QUOTE ]
Problem with this though is that being honest might very well make someone look bad. Hypothetically (obviously unlikely) what if Gabe Thaler ended up playing no better than a top 2/4 nl grinder.... reporting back honestly to your blog would possibly make some players look bad.

[ QUOTE ]
After most of the internet players did not like KT's answer, they all shouted for PA to answer it, assuming he will at least name a few internet pros. Now that he answered "Zero", suddenly he's not the best one to answer, the question is not relevant, the post is unnecessary etc.
Should DS go on and ask each and every player until someone mentioned a few internet pros?

[/ QUOTE ]
Ey man.... ey.... whose the best free throw shooter in the history of the NBA? Reggie Miller? Steve Kerr? Mark Price? Clearly whoever it is, is the best basketball player in the world.

(In case you need it spelled out for you, the question DS asked was irrelevent to online players and which has the overall better caliber of player).

FWIW just glancing over your list... Chip Reese was a big loser in nosebleeds online. Nick Schulman built his roll on the internet (I believe he did anyway since he was TheTakeover on PS and when he turned 21 started going to casinos and stuff), either way though if he's a live player he mentioned in an interview that he stopped playing online as much due to the big jump in skill. Farha and Elezra, not much needs to be said. Benyamine does play nosebleeds online but I don't think he's a top winner in any of the datamines i've seen. And if Harman, Doyle, Todd, and others thought online players were so bad... wouldn't they have been playing nosebleeds online? The nosebleeds online were running more often than live, higher stakes, and hands were dealt much faster... they'd have no incentive to pass up easier, higher stake games, that they can play from their own homes.

I haven't played with any of these guys but I think this list is way off.

You know we are talking about NLHE live full ring right?

Sklansky comes off in these threads like the chump kid in the school yard who runs from one side to the other, telling them what the other side said. All the while hoping to see a fight he doesn't have the stones for himself.

[ QUOTE ]
great. now this thread can turn into a bunch of random people listing players they've seen on T.V.

[/ QUOTE ]lol

anyway, it's funny how you live donks think that live players can be better

It is very simple evolution - the larger societies evolve faster. There are more players on the intarnets at any moment and they play more hands so it's quite logical that they develop faster.

It's also a simple hourly rate calculation. One plays 10x+ more hands online than live so it's only logical that 50/100 live would play like 5/10 online as it would give the players the same hourly.

I think there barely are any live players in the top 20 NLHE player list except for Antonius and Ivey.

P.S. People like fwf obviously play both thus they are quite credible in their assessment.

As long as the online player is smart and able to control their body, a few reverse tells should nearly make up for whatever they lose in that department.

[/ QUOTE ]

You think Gabe Thaler, Kenny Tran, or PA, isn't going to pick up on mf'in "reverse tells"? If so, keep playing online, which I'm sure you will.

There's no question that online play has advanced the game theory behind poker, and that online poker players tend to be more mathematically un-exploitable.

Live players don't get their edge by being mathematically un-exploitable. They get it by reading mf'ers souls.

I also don't think there's any question that an online winner could beat live games for 10x the stakes. What we're discussing, however, is the BEST of the BEST, and among the best live players, there's more than math and 100bb and "reverse tells" going on.

its a gr8 fkn hustle dey got

That said, PA is obviously leveling. C'mon now.

Also, the games ARE drying up. For those of us who can't play 8+ tables online, can you really say that playing live is bad for EV?
