niss,NTB:

Not sure how EDF has anything at all to do with my opinion of what should/shouldn't be allowed in other forums.

iron has decided the politics forum is for political discussion and not political gossip. those threads were part of the latter.

That said, I would find a thread about Prescott Bush and his dealings interesting in another forum. Why not try OOT/TLDR/EGF?

bad idea

You purposefully censor which OPs can OP, what type of OPs are acceptable and to a great extent the expected type of replies in your forum based on your own explanations. Thats coolio and the gang AFIC cus it's your community and they seem to be fine with it.

Look through some of my ATF poli postings and you'll find I'm NOT iron81 fanboy#1.

In this case, though, his stickied rule and reasonable explantion seem just as or fairer than the explanations given for your own forum's rules.

NTB,

The whole raison d'etre of EDF is to allow a respected poster to make those judgments as he sees fit. The point of the politics forum is to talk politics. Imagine Mason Malmuth criticizing the Oxford English Dictionary for not including the Latin root of annular--I recommend you actually do this; it's amusing--and then the OED bigwigs responding by pointing out that Mason's books don't analyze the etymology of annular either. Such criticism of Mason would clearly be silly.

Mike Pemulis, wow that is an awesome username right there. This OP of mine may be of interest to you, if it looks like a shameless plug/attempt to steer traffic then whatever, but anyone with that username would probably have something to share about the book.

tuq,

Time to begin my Lounge career! I think you're such a good poster that you should be permitted the occasional advertisement-ish post.

This thread is boring. Where are the politics posters to liven it up.
