Re: Alright overall play of the hand ok
Isn't it spew to call another t100 just for setmining?

Re: Alright overall play of the hand ok
Easy call preflop. Folding when there are four opps in the hand and you close the action would be bad. If it was just MP2 raising it's a bit of a tougher decision but at a $6.50 I probably still call (because they are more likely to stack off if you hit your set, thereby improving your implied odds).

Re: Alright overall play of the hand ok
Isn't it the perfect situation to set mine with that many callers ahead of you. You have to call t100 into a t520 pot, closing the action. You can be pretty sure that if you hit, you will be able to stack off at least one of the callers for another t1380 making the total winnings t3380. Taipan168 posted a 10x/20x set implied odds rule the other day that suggests if you can win greater than 20x the amount of chips that it takes to make the call, you should make it. By my math, t100 to win a possible t3380 or more warrents a call here.
Or, I don't know what I'm talking about because I'm so new. Either way, I make this call. |

Re: Alright overall play of the hand ok
If it was only HU then I usually save the T100 for another day. However the dead money + extra players to stack helps a ton in achieving the amount you need postflop. Two half pot bets with just 1 caller and you're there.

Re: Alright overall play of the hand ok
I think that you played this correctly. Calling 100 with so many other players in the pot seems standard. Well played.

Re: Alright overall play of the hand ok
Half of what we need to win to justify set-mining is already in the pot, and we have plenty of villains in to pay us off. Easy call preflop. Good fold on the flop. NH.
