Really Basic Cash Game question for you all!
i have just made the switch from mtts and sngs to cash games. i currently play $0.25/$0.50.
anyway.... obv sngs and mtts have an end. either when you bust out or win... then you either start another... or don't. but when do you leave a cash game? do you set aside 1 hour to play and leave on the dot whether you are up or down? do you set an amount of 100 hands or so? do you set a target for winning? e.g when i double this $25 buy-in i am outta here? do you set a loss limit? e.g. 1 buy-in or whatever? i know it may be an idiotic question and obv you can leave when you want... but do you plan before plaing when you will leave or base your decision on how many fishies are in the game? ty for any posts on here. even "die in a greasefire noob/eurotrash!" |

Re: Really Basic Cash Gane question for you all!
If im winning i play as long as possible, if im losing i only play as long as i think im still playing well, if i start to get frustrated or go on tilt i walk away i wouldn't set a limit on yourself, just play as much as u can when your playing well

Re: Really Basic Cash Gane question for you all!
As much as you want to really. If the game is really fishy I'll stay for hours. If I'm getting bored or I don't think the game is profitable I'll get up. Just play a few sessions, and just leave whenever you feel like you don't want to play anymore.

Re: Really Basic Cash Gane question for you all!
I set stop loss rules. So i wont lose more then four buy ins. I feel that if your losing that much then your playing poorly.
but as for everything else, the answer is no. 100 hands in a cash game is almost nothing... |

Re: Really Basic Cash Gane question for you all!
I play as long as I feel I'm playing well and am interested in playing. There's no way to really set a time or hand limit on that.

Re: Really Basic Cash Gane question for you all!
It is normally best to either set a time limit or a number of hands. If you happen to be at some really good tables stay as long as you are playing well, but make sure that you stay alert for signs that you are getting tired, bored, or otherwise burned out. My usual sign is that if I have made three crying calls in recent memory it's quitting time.
Take frequent breaks, especially if you multi-table. Playing for two hours and then taking 1/2 to one hour off is normally good. |

Re: Really Basic Cash Gane question for you all!
set up a limit on how long I wanna play.
When i run good I dont play very long. WHen I run bad I playa nd try to break even. but mostly I try to decide how long Img oign to play before the session starts:/ |

Re: Really Basic Cash Gane question for you all!
hmm. Im playing like the first 30-60 minutes without huge limits. I only stop there when I see Im constantly losing. After that time I look at the clock and set myself a time limit based on HOW I FEEL/PLAY. If I feel bad but play good it's gonna be like 30 more minutes, if good/good about 1hr. I never play more than 2hours sessions.

I 12 table 25NL so I try to play at least 1k hands, then it depends how well I'm running. Don't go over two hours though.
