Default Stars World Cup Qualifying thread

Just curious to see if any 2+2ers have had any success making their way through the qualifying tourneys.

As you may have guess, this is a thinly veiled brag post. I'm in the final 18 for Alberta. Which doesn't mean much because the field was absolutely horrid.

The one notable feature was the longest bubble I've ever played: 40+ minutes. Short stacks survived no less than 10 all-ins, usually with the worst of it. Of course, in the end, KK<A3o.

I just looked at the Netherlands qualifier. It says top 9 will go to round 2. I guess this thing is going to pretty impossible. I guess it'll get about 3 to 6k runners.

But hey, I'm going to run anyway and hopefully I can post my name here.

I don't think there will be that many. However, since those $100 freerolls for Benelux players get about 2000 entrants, I suppose you'll get at least 1000.

I guess you're guaranteed a national team, not just a state team?

Well Team New Brunswick is going to be awful unless the guys who got TLB spots are really good (is there anyway to find out who this is?) I got 15th. The two big stacks limped every hand so I finally shoved and AJ<KQ,

I got in for Hamburg, Germany.

First round had 300 runners. Got lucky in the later stages and then limped into top 9.
Today I doubled up early then was the short stack with 6 players left. Got very lucky when I pushed all-in against a raise from the table bully with Q9s and he called with just 77. Another coinflip won and we were down to 3. Got fantastic cards there and one of the players was too tight so he got blinded down and when he finally pushed I had AQ fortunately.
