[ QUOTE ] This is in nowhere, indiana. I dont even want to think about how much someone in vegas could make where drinks are free. What is a ballpark figure? 300k? [/ QUOTE ] you seriously think a waitress in LV pulls 300k? [/ QUOTE ] I have no clue how much they make but in Indiana they make a [censored] ton. It is mostly patroned by 70 year old men and women that dont drink and play slots non stop. In vegas there is alot more drinking going on because drinks are free not 3.25 for a beer. Also people order 10x more drinks in vegas so they would get that many more tips. When I was at the Bellagio they were pushing a cart full of drinks and handing them out as fast as they could. If they are getting one dollar a drink, they could hand out more than 100 drinks an hour. And from that 1000 dollar tip thread some of those guys saying they tip 5 dollars a drink. Combined with places like the Wynn having a "modeling agency" to get hot chicks I thought they would get far more tips than 50 year old fat old women from Indiana. Vegas also sells liquor 24/7 whereas indiana stops at 3 on weekdays and midnight on sunday. When I was in vegas I was tipping 2 dollars a drink as fast as she could bring them back to me. Prolly drank 20 beers in 5 hours playing poker. That's 40 just from me. She was handing beers and getting tips from everyone. Seems like she could pull in some serious money. 500 for a night in Indiana from people that basically are not big drinkers. Vegas is a drinking and tipping town. I figure they can pull close to 300k. Is that unbelievable? |

Re: Why dont girls aspire to be cocktail waitresses?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] A new unnattractive waitress they just hired had a shift from like 12 to 8 on a monday in the worst section of the casino. This section is made up of all old women who are playing penny slots and never drink. She still made over 200 dollars for the shift. [/ QUOTE ] How do you know this? [/ QUOTE ] I work in the same casino and talk to cocktail waitresses all day and I am extremely jealous of all the money they make. They have 2 male cocktail waiters that make a ton also but I dont think my pride would let me do that. Also they wear ugly totally covering dresses. So it's not like even the young girls are looking hot at all. The dress at Caesars Indiana is the ugliest cocktail dress ever. |

Re: Why dont girls aspire to be cocktail waitresses?
[ QUOTE ]
money isn't everything; you have to deal with people; not everyone tips as you describe; you're on your feet all day; it's not intellectually stimulating; the hours probably suck. you probably have to dealth drunk people. [/ QUOTE ] Those are all good reasons that I thought of before I made this thread. But plenty of people work shity jobs that they hate every day and dont make near this kind of money. Any girl that is a waiter would prolly make 3x as much money being a cocktail waitress which is sorta the same field. Being on your feet all day does suck but at least you get alot of good exercise. You walk all day and that will keep you in pretty good shape. Also going to college and marrying someone and not working is obv better, but not everyone can do that. As I said before these girls are not all prize pigs. They are ugly, and do not have the option to marry rich people. They are also many times old. I think the main reason is people dont know how much money they make. It's a hard job def. but there is alot harder/shittier jobs out there where you are not making that kind of scratch. |

[/ QUOTE ] No, not on a daily basis they don't. They may have $500 nights from time to time, but they aren't pulling down $2,500 in tips per week. No way. |

Re: Why dont girls aspire to be cocktail waitresses?
I had a GF with huge cans who cocktailed briefly. She made a TON of money (this was in Seattle BTW), generally $200-$500. She absolutely hated it, was sexually harassed almost every night and quit after a few weeks.
It was also hard for me to know she was out a seedy place getting hit on all night. |
