I can understand why it's hard for you to leave. I work at a Red Lobster here, and I honestly really do enjoy the work. I think RL does a pretty good job of not hiring total asshats, so the people you work with are always good, and on top of that the money is pretty good relative to the majority of serving places.

Sounds like you made the right decision though. If you are beating 400NL like you are, there's no reason to waste your time or energy (that could be spent building your roll) on another job.

However, I think even if I did go back to playing poker all the time, I would still probably work at RL at least a few days a week. The unlimited amounts of alcohol plus the fun I have while I'm at work (yes, i really do have fun there) would make it worthwhile. Plus, it's always good to not have to rely 100% on poker for your income. I did that for awhile and it can get a little bit stressful.
