a number of my friends encouraged me to hedge my tigers bet throughout the year. i stuck it out through everything though. was anyone else furious with the lineup ozzie put on the field today? huge win by the white sox.

and yes, the howard bet was on pinny.

also, curious on an update of crockpot's tigers ws bet at 80-1.

i was definitely shocked, but i wimped out and hedged in the last week, so it wasn't a huge deal to me. i still wish they would clinch already so i didn't have to keep waking up early to place a series of bets every day.

fyp

i contacted their support several times after posting, trying to convince them their line was incorrect. they have continued to say they will honor the line, but i'm still very unsure they will do so.

perhaps i will talk to them again right as the playoffs start.

btw, i omitted a bunch of postseason bets, since the playoff field is already set and this weekend's action will not affect them much.

what a joke the tigers are. they better stay with bonderman as the starter on sunday.

so stressful. i still don't believe hedging is the correct play on the tigers bet.

Seems like they want the division (and to face Oak rather than NYY) so I'd think Bonderman will be out there tomorrow.

yeah, I felt really dirty about hedging as I knew I was making an inherently -ev bet. Unfortunately I don't have the bankroll anymore to just gamble, so I had to hedge off some. I still have a 2k difference riding on tomorrow's games which is far more than I'd ever bet in a day, plus assorted football bets. rooting for you chalk!

I need the Cards to stay close enough going into Sunday to have Carpenter pitch, then I need him to throw a gem while Brandon Webb gets rocked.

[/ QUOTE ]

It looks like Larussa has made the decision to start Anthony Reyes, rather than Carpenter.

With Houston losing, I think it is the right move. If Houston comes back to win, and St. Louis loses, than Carpenter can pitch in the one game playoff against Houston.

This pretty much screws anyone (including me) who has money riding on Carpenter for Cy Young though.

I need Brandon Webb to get rocked, especially since I have SD to win the NL West.

Edit: Actually, St. Louis would also have to lose in the makeup game vs SF before they had to play Houston.

Bonderman staked to a 6-0 lead, and can't get through the 5th inning. Thank god for Zumaya, who came on to get two straight pop outs with runners on 2nd and 3rd.

Detroit at 800-1 to win the World Series? Sounds about right...

My prediction is Detroit swept by the Yankees.
