I think both sides agree that some kind of drop off from the current pace is to be expected. To last place? Probably not. To once again fighting for a 6-8 seed? Probably.

I think we can also agree that You Can't Beat Us!

uhhhhhhhhh get outta the thread and back to nassau or suffolk or whatever and guido up the hair you freaking long island bastard, and to think you posted in the mets thread that whole time, yarrrr go away away away we want fishsticks we want fishsticks

haha, I always get a laugh when sports loyalties diverge and converge. Like when I see Triumph and Karak in the Giants threads and think "aslkjd;gskj wtf Yankees suck!"

I want fishsticks too. I think they should bring the uni back once or twice a year for a throwback night.

my favorite sports moment of all time was during messier's last season, a rangers/islanders game, there was a giant fight and he just grabbed jason blake by the throat and choked him with one hand until blake's face turned purple, god i came so many times i needed a [censored] ladle to clean out my pants it was so good

Use whatever cockamamie stats you want to use. I'll use the only one that matters -- the record. Or is your position that 11 wins out of 17 games is a fluke?

[/ QUOTE ]

Please tell me you are leveling me, because if not...sigh. Do you really honestly think that a teams record over a small sample is an accurate representation of a team's ability?

[/ QUOTE ]

This is a stupid conversation, because you fail reading comprehension. I did not say the Islanders were going to win the Cup. They are a decent team, maybe somewhat better than that. They have been better than I expected. Do they have holes? Yes. So does almost every other team in the league. Are they an 11-6 team over 80 games? Probably not. Are they a playoff contender? Absolutely. Yes, they started great last year, played badly middle, but finished strongly and snuck into the playoffs when it looked like they were done. They are well coached. Better?

[/ QUOTE ]

Why do I fail at reading comprehension? You said that the only thing that matters to look at when evaluating a team at this point in the season is their record. I pointed out that that is a ridiculous untrue statement. What is the problem?

Great win against Ottawa even if they are in a big slump.

Completely owned the first period.

15-9-2. I'll take it considering we are last in the league in goals per game.

9 goals the last two games though. Hopefully it's turning around. The defense (read Lundquist) remains a strong point, and if the O gets going, oh baby.

qft about the first period, though I think the Rangers are second-to-last in goals scored/game, I think they're beating Edmonton /nitpick
