it just boggles my mind that (as stinkypete pointed out) people can lose hundreds or thousands every day without going broke. But hey, bless 'em -- if it weren't for them, I'd probably have to go back to work.

many probably would be millionaires if it wern't for gambling

Surely, work must be more fun than this. And for you, almost as lucrative. Or at least lucrative enough to where it's a decent option.

Meh. I was extremely fortunate to do well for myself at my last job, so I don't really need to go back to the 9-5 world again. Besides, I have had enough of corporate bureaucracy for a while. I might go back to the startup world at some point, we'll see.

The thing is that I really get off on seeing the people around me lose. Last night I got to sit next to a Rolex-clad mouthbreather who's been playing and losing for years. He bought in for a rack or so with $100's, then went bust. He then pulled out his wallet and, to borrow from a Tommy Angelo short story, discovered he had "struck Jacksons". He bought in for 5 $20's, lost that almost instantly, and left. I loved watching him do that, self-destructing again for the thousandth time. It really made me feel good.

yesterday/this morning i had my first huge win in a long time. it also might be the start of snapping my 6 week downswing, but we will see.

funny thing was, as i was looking around the table and seeing people's faces, i almost felt bad about taking their money.

it later went away today.

Won a 25 BB pot yesterday when we went 3 bets four ways preflop with me holding A5. Flop was Q55r and all three of the other players had a Q. 4 bets four ways on flop, two bets four ways on turn, one bet three ways on river. Finally the last guy on the river made the hero fold with KQ to not be the over-over caller.

Yesterday an absurdly bad player calls 3 cold on the flop with JJ on AK9 two diamonds board. He then proceeds to spike a jack on the turn but loses to QTdd. LOL.
