I know nice houses in nice neighborhoods in the city are ridiculous. I know of a neighborhood (which, mind you, isn't like an American neighborhood) with houses that have the square footage of a very average houses in the states for close to a million pesos

Default Re: Ask TheMetetron about living in or visiting Buenos Aires, Argentin

I am going there for 2 months now at the end of octobre. Got a place in palermo next to some nice parks which i really liked.

I have a question regarding the customs though. Im looking to bring my comp+ 22" with me. How is the best way to go about this?
It was stated earlier that it shouldn't be a problem, but the customs COULD give you a hard time. What's the best plan? Should you declare those items specificly before going or what is the procecdure?

Thanks

... Well thinking about this I figured declaring them wouldn't be that useful. Given you are coming with a 2 way ticket they really shouldn't bother you at all.

sdplayerb, where was that bar we found in Palermo...you know the one with happy hour 2 for 1 on cocktails etc? The nachos there were great.

Tandoor: had an awesome fish kebab starter when I was last there, but my main was a little disappointing (chicken dish). Still, a very welcome change.

Default Utility bill

Guys I have a poker related problem I hope you can help me with.

I just registred on NETeller and they have closed my account until I send in a copy of my passport and a utility bill. As I am living in a "Casa de familia" here in BsAs and don't pay gas, water, WC expenses etc (only a monthly sum to the proprietor for my room), I don't have such an utility bill. I spoke to their support, but they insist that I have to send in a copy in order to reopen my account.

Any idea what I can do? I was thinking about ordering something to my home address to get a bill with my name and address on it, but I dont know what and I am unsure what they mean with "utility" bill. As far as I understand this cant be a "envio a domicilio" from a supermarket?

Any suggestions please?

nordino - what address is you neteller account registered to? if it's your 'home' address (ie. i assume argentina is only a temporary move and you actually reside somewhere else) then they're looking for something with you address on it, it can either be a utility bill or bank statement

I just registred with my new address in Argentina. I am only here as a tourist (for about a year), and I have a residence in Norway, but unfortunately it is impossible for me to get a utility bill from there too because it's my parent's house and they are paying all the bills.

I spoke to some Argentines who said that I could go to a police station to get a certificate with my name and address on it, but I am looking for other alternatives as I know that they will try to charge me tourist price or [censored] it up somehow.

Have you signed any form of temporary rental contract with the owners of the house you are living in? A copy of this usually does it for poker sites...though I suspect it is unlikely to satisfy neteller.
