Decent post, but exactly what is wrong with a 3BB raise?

[/ QUOTE ]

SSNL at B&M would call for a standard 10xBB raise preflop.

You don't play B&M much, do you?

[/ QUOTE ]

No, but when I do, this is my standard raise. At the very least, a 3xBB raise isn't lol-worthy. Just because the standard open at Commerce is 5-6x BB doesn't make it right, ( I DO need to check out that commerce game sometime though.)

[/ QUOTE ]

learn to adjust to the game you are in.

3BB at B&M is lol.

[/ QUOTE ]

Gee, I'll try that.

The games I've been in, btw, standard raise is never more than 4x, but ty for the instruction.

I don't think I've ever seen or dealt a SSNL B&M game with those 3bb-ish opens being standard. There's no need for less live, but eh (this isn't a strategy post). My point was he was obviously a live noob. 3bb to open is definitely lol at these stakes everywhere in Atlantic City.

then what did you say??.. This never happened I bet

If you really find this story hard to believe, you're a bigger live noob than villian. Guys like this are all over the poker room now. I won't even bring up the low buy-in tourney players I deal to. He didn't have the sunglasses though. To answer your question, I toked the dealer and let the guy steam. Then, we went on to the next hand.

Also funny, forgot to point out:

"I eat old donkeys like you for breakfast..."

I'm 31.

This fool is in the big blind and we are only playing 1-2 and he raises to 25 after 4 or 5 ppl limp. everyone at the table flolds and he smiles whe he takes down the joke of a pot then says "had to raise I was in position". I didn't tell him he was wrong right away, rather I pretended I knew nothing about it and I asked him to explain what position in poker was and his theory on it from across the table. this was one of the funniest conversations I have ever been involved in at the poker table.
