If a 3rd heart comes on the turn, you should still come out firing and not folding. There's a shitton of non flush hands he can have and you still need protection, perhaps even moreso than on the flop.

DD i'm often in your boat with leading the flop, though if OP thinks villain is c betting like 95% of time here i don't mind his check.

I don't like it, even if villain bets every time. We call if villain bets? Or check-raise?

If the core of your blind defense is call check the flop, ie there are very few hands you will lead on the flop, then you will have to including raising preflop with hands that include 88. 88 going to play like middle pair on most flops, and will be difficult OOP.

In the hand in question, you flop top set on a dangerous board and look for his c-bet which isnt coming. I think u can rule out overpairs, and two big hearts.

Your lead call on the turn is consistent with your pf call, not divulging any info, the problem here is that if villain has a heart he will pay you on the turn but not pay you on the river. So you will have to check a non-heart river hoping he will bluff which will not be 100% of the time, even if villain has no showdown value. I'd probably lead the turn and push to a reraise.

I'd actually lead out on most flops, except something like AQT or other three overs situations. I think it's cheaper than 3betting pf and being sick the times button shoves, though admittedly it gives the opponent a chance to catch something. I definitely reraise pf sometimes, and I definitely mix up leading and going for a checkraise with a variety of hands. In this particular situation I was just pissed about the way I'd gotten to the river, and I think bet/3bet turn is a must.
